Meet Matt Rainwater

 

Biography

Matt Rainwater is the Managing Partner of Pineland Capital Partners. Matt has over 15 years of experience in private equity and mergers & acquisitions. Matt has been responsible for sourcing and evaluating new investments at Hidden Harbor Capital Partners, American Industrial Partners, and High Road Capital Partners.

Matt started his career at KPMG and is an inactive CPA. In addition, he worked at Blackstone, where he was responsible for fundraising on behalf of real estate and private equity investors.

Matt received his B.B.A and Master of Accountancy from the University of Georgia.

Outside of work, Matt spends most of his time taking his son to hockey practice and Florida Panthers games, or trying to improve his very average golf game. Matt is an active member at Avenue Church and lives in Delray Beach, Florida. Matt was born and raised in Atlanta, and still remains an avid fan of all Atlanta sports teams and UGA.


 
 

Meet John Griswold

 

Biography

John Griswold is a Principal at Pineland Capital Partners. He has over 22 years of experience in consulting, sales, finance and operations. He has an entrepreneurial spirit, a heart for connecting people, and a skill for developing and deploying strategies for growth.

John started his career in sales and trading for Crédit Agricole in New York. After business school, John focused his attention on understanding all aspects of small business: starting as an analyst for an angel network, to founding, owning, operating and selling small businesses, and partnering with others to stand up and scale companies. John is still active as an owner / operator and looks forward to leveraging this experience for his clients at Pineland Capital Partners. 

John received his BA in Economics from Hampden-Sydney College and an MBA in Finance with an Entrepreneurship emphasis from Vanderbilt University.

When he is not working, John is most often finding ways to connect with friends and family. An adventurer at heart, he loves to travel, is always up for a round of golf, and if there is a guitar nearby, he will be teaching himself a new chord progression. John lives with his wife and children in Charlotte, NC.


 
 

Meet Paul Looper

 

Biography

As a Principal at Pineland Capital Partners, Paul is responsible for actively identifying, originating, and analyzing investment opportunities for private equity groups and corporate acquirers across various sectors.

Paul Looper is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in the private equity and corporate deal origination space having started his career at Dinan & Company in 2017.

Paul holds a Bachelor of Science in Political Science from Arizona State University, where he was also a student-athlete on the Sun Devil’s wrestling team.

In addition to his professional achievements, Paul is passionate about coaching and serves as a Varsity Wrestling Coach at Horizon High School, where he imparts his knowledge and skills to aspiring athletes.


 
 

Meet Taylor Wolfes

 

Biography

Taylor is a principal at Pineland Capital Partners. Taylor has 15 years of experience in capital markets, corporate finance and commercial real estate investment sales. Taylor is responsible for identifying, originating, and analyzing investments for private equity and corporate investors. 

Taylor’s previous experience includes SVP, Capital Markets with JLL; Principal, Investment Sales with Lee & Associates; Founder and Qualifying Broker of The Wolfes Company.  

An Atlanta, GA native, Taylor received his B.B.A from Kennesaw State University.  

Outside of the office, Taylor is a competitive triathlete, golfer, and fly fisherman.
